Lake Management Specialists is a division of Underwater Repair Specialists.  We specialize in meeting your needs within your budget.  Algae and weed treatments in lakes, as we all know, can be very time consuming and in depth.  There are multiple treatment methods available at a number of costs.  Some of you may be treating the ponds yourself while others have hired an outside company similar to ours to manage your lakes for you.  Either way, we would like to opportunity to meet with you and evaluate your issues.  We may be able to present you with a less costly and more effective plan than you are currently using.  We will work with you to detail a plan that suits your budget and your needs.

One of the myths we run into is “you can’t chemically treat an irrigation pond or any water that runs into the irrigation pond”.  There are chemicals available that allow us to treat both algae and vasculars in all bodies of water without any risk to your turf.  The treatments can be done just hours before you irrigate.  The key is to know the chemicals and how to apply them.  We also have the ability to get rid of the majority of your surface algae within 36 hours if it is already a problem or if you have an event coming up and need it gone right away.

Along with chemicals there are also biological treatments that are effective in controlling growth.  The bacteria can be used to fight your weed and algae problems as well as reduce the amounts of waste and sludge in your lakes.  Biological treatments are limited by the dissolved oxygen levels in the bodies of water they are being used in.  Aeration is the key to having a healthy pond.  While aeration alone will not prevent algae and weeds from growing it is necessary to support the natural and added bacteria.

There are many companies selling aeration systems at very low prices.  You need to be aware of what you are buying.  You don’t get quality products at the bottom dollar.  The position of the diffuser, the air flow and the size of air bubbles being released are all important to getting the right air mixture needed to improve your dissolved oxygen levels.  We can design and install a quality system with the right compressor, airline, and diffusers to ensure the system does what it is intended to do.

Call us to set up an appointment or for a consultation over the phone to see if we can help you.  Office number 720-981-5200.  Cell #'s 303-437-8394 or 303-949-0098.
